Sanitary Facility in Mae SotThis project is a restroom block for the Thai Rai Kiri Primary School in Mae Sot (Thailand). This primary school is part of a larger school complex built in 1979, currently accommodating approx. 767 students from Thailand and Myanmar.
Due to the big run another school building with five classrooms was built, so the classes for these children no longer have to take place on the sports field and in the cafeteria. However, still missing were sanitary facilities, helping secure the health and hygiene conditions of the children.
The donors of O.P.C. have made such sanitary facilities possible. It is a solid, attractive, brick stone building with four toilets for each girls and boys, with water and electricity supplies and a total of 12 wash bays. It’s located next to the new school building.
In January 2015 our chairwoman, Maren Pfähler, visited Mae Sot for the inauguration of the sanitary facility of the Thai Raj Kiri Primary School. Children, teachers, the headmaster and the local mayor had organized a colorful opening ceremony with many acceptance speeches to donors.
We are pleased and proud that we were able to complete this project with your help and support. The children say THANK YOU O.P.C.!
